Hello lovelies!  Here's Collection #2 of our Managing Roadblocks to Well-being.  The over-arching theme for this set is Tuning Into Ourselves.

During the moments I was working on this piece, I listened to classical music - The Four Seasons, Brandenburg Concertos, Cannon in D... you get the idea.  My point is, for this work, classical music helped me tune into myself.

I invite you to cultivate your own rituals to help you tune into you - nothing complicated, just things you enjoy!

Don’t get me wrong, I honour the history and lineage of yoga. But sometimes I feel that instead of honouring the past and moving forward, we emotionally hostage ourselves and each other into stagnation.  We force-fit ourselves into how yoga was taught and practiced centuries or even decades ago.  We get so caught up in the idea that we're not being authentic if we divert even just a little.

Consider this - human knowledge and understanding has been enriched tremendously.  We’ve learned more about anatomy, nutrition, and safety in relation to understanding our body....

We are creatures of habit. We don't like it when our routines are disrupted.

It's the same when our preconception of how things should be is challenged…say, when it comes to our yoga class. When this happens, it can throw off even our favourite activities and what used to always bring us contentment is suddenly a source of stress.

During one of my Dosha Vinyasa Yoga© classes, I threw such a wrench in the gears, so to speak, intentionally.

You probably won’t know this, but my website has gone through three overhauls; so has my business name and logo.  Not to mention the designs of my posters, banners and images that I use on my promotion materials and social media.  And even now, when I really love and am proud of my current design set, I still find myself reviewing and refining everything.

The same is true for my class sequences.  I use the next set in the cycle as my home-practice to enable me to refine the poses, modifications and mini sequences that make up the whole in preparation for my classes...
